I started my business in 2015 when we relocated to Florida for my husband's career. My new neighbor introduced me to a local business who needed my help. He was so impressed with me that he told two friends, and they told two friends, and bada bing, bada boom, I'm a business now. We got our LLC in 2024 and I hired my first employee, who is also my son, Noah Sanchez. Noah was a Godsend in late 2024 when I took some time to care for my mom before she passed. He has been a wonderful addition to the company and I'm so proud of all the ways he supports our clients. I look forward to growing our firm, and someday in the distant future, handing it over to him.
We didn't realize when we picked it that people would connect DEM with a political party, but it has nothing to do with politics at all. Noah and I searched every word that conveyed our commitment to our clients and their books: Clarity, Precision, Pristine, Reliable, Dependable, Truth in Numbers, and every name we came up with was already taken somewhere in the world. These days, Google searches the Worldwide Web so even if there wasn't a competitor down the street, we didn't want our potential clients finding someone in Australia when they searched for us. We were talking about what would be memorable on a Tshirt you saw in the airport, and that's when we laughed and said
Call 'dem bookkeepers! It's tongue in cheek. It's cheesy. And admittedly, we are a bit cheesy too, so it fit.

We initially did an ad campaign and the people we hired kept putting stock photos of calculators and pens sitting on notepads in our ads. It frustrated me to no end as we don't work that way anymore. It was outdated and antiquated.
I love to take photos of sunsets and oceans, trees, birds and wandering paths. I decided that this was the feeling I wanted DEM Bookkeepers to elicit, a peaceful place, a calm retreat, a place where you could just exhale. That's the goal I have for my clients, that I give them peace of mind around their books.
